Since 2008, the Indy Winter Farmers Market (IWFM) has provided a venue for Indiana’s sustainability-minded family farms and food producers to sell products, throughout the fall and winter, improving the community’s year-round access to fresh, local foods.
Today, we had to make the difficult decision to suspend the market, which dramatically impacts our organization and our vendors.
In an effort to show our continued support of our vendors, today, we are announcing Produce with Purpose Fund. This fund is intended to directly help mitigate financial fallout from the recent and ongoing developments of COVID-19.
Now more than ever, it is essential that we do all we can to support access to fresh, local foods. We remain determined to bridge the gap that exists between local farms and our tables, and in order to do this, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
The Produce with Purpose Fund will support by:
- Providing resources to allow us to focus staff time to connect your business to alternate paths of distribution and connect our followers directly to your business.
- To secure funds to assist in recovering the loss associated with the suspension of the market.
- To ensure the continuation of the Indy Winter Farmers Market this fall.
A small donation can have a significant impact. Please consider supporting our fund so we can help secure the future of local, fresh foods within Indianapolis. We created a list of vendors so you can continue to shop for your favorite farmers’ market items. Find the list by clicking the link here: www.growingplacesindy.org/IWFM
Sincerely,
The Indy Winter Farmers Market Team
